It may very well be true that in the company of misery the truth of hope may be discovered. God comforted me and brought me through my season of grief for exactly such a time as this. To whom much is given, much is also required – those who have grieved a deep loss and overcome have the greatest capacity to offer comfort to others who suffer grief.

I believe the first thing I learned in the valley remains that grief is a necessary part of life. Healthy grief helps us process change as well as redefine our lives after an unmet expectation, loss or traumatic event.
I would like to say that grief is truly the way we were designed by God to process the changes that come into our lives. Whether the grief comes to us over a small disappointment, unmet expectation, significant life event or the death of someone we love. Grief helps us adjust our focus, open our hearts to new seasons and come to terms with the reality of what has happened over time.
