Perspective

Last night, I lay in my bed with the television turned off. I had watched the numbers make their slow and determined prediction. I tweeted and retweeted. I shook my head in dismay. I watched one man concede while another celebrated. I felt the weight of reality set in as I realized my convictions may have been totally wrong. I repented and asked God to speak to my troubled heart. And He gently lifted my head toward heaven and politely adjusted my perspective.

The Fervent Prayers of the Righteous Avail Much | A Call To National Prayer

Beth Moore posted a prayer request post on her blog yesterday inviting those who visit and comment at the LPM Blog to post prayers for our next President and nation based on Scriptures that would be prayed throughout the next few days as the election results come in and this political season draws to a close. I am extending the same invitation here. You are welcome to write out your own prayers based on Scripture (please include the Scripture references) and share them in comments here on the blog.

“He sets up kings and deposes them…” | Thoughts on This Election

I have had occasion to share with a few of my close family and friends my perspective on the upcoming election. After prayerful consideration, I am going to share my heart here, in public, and pray that you would hear my heart rather than a political or even a religious response. I encourage all who read this to visit www.voteunderGod.com and consider the moral issues of this election and vote according to your moral values rather than a cultural agenda based on the gods of our pocketbooks or pride.

Women of Faith | A Full September & Rewind

As I sat to write today, I have been thinking on Women of Faith and what a sweet time I had with my friend, Angie (not Angie Smith 🙂 ), and getting to spend some time with my youngest daughter, Taylor, who attended with her church.

I had the good fortune of attending Women of Faith this year by God’s graciousness in my life during this season. He has blessed me four times since February with opportunities to attend women’s events without incurring any additional expense. The sweetness of the Lord’s glory continues to humble, astound and amaze me. I continue to carry this weight of His greater glory with cautious optimism. And more than all this I do what I know to do and that is testify to His goodness and grace in every passing moment praying His word rings true and the things of my flesh fall quickly away. May His name always and eternally be praised to the glory of Christ forever, and amen.
